Preventing Gun Violence Through  A Community of Care was presented at a community meeting co-sponsored by The League of Women Voters for Downers Grove / Lisle / Woodridge  and League of Women Voters Glen Ellyn.  The program was Thursday, September 22 at Hadley Jr. High 240 Hawthorne Blvd, Glen Ellyn from 7-8:30 p.m. Over 100 community members attended.

 

The program  featured keynote speaker Andres Acosta, LCSW a high school social worker and private practice counselor, and a panel discussion with school superintendents Dr Melissa Kaczkowski of Glen Ellyn District 41, Dr David Larson of Glenbard Township District 87, Dr Emily Tammaru of Community Consolidated District 89, Dr Kevin Russell of Downers Grove Grade School District 58, and Dr Henry Thiele of Community High School District 99.
