Last week the Supreme Court heard opening arguments in Moore v. Harper – a case that promotes the “Independent State Legislature Theory (ISLT)” – a baseless theory promoted by radicalized conservatives that, if made into law, would wreak havoc on future elections. This case comes after what was projected to be the most expensive midterm elections in history – where the influence of billionaires, Super PACs, and dark money promoted election deniers and other anti-democratic efforts during the campaign cycle.

Join us on Wednesday, December 14, from 1pm ET to 2pm ET, when Brennan Center experts will discuss both ISLT and money in politics reform – and provide insight on our work to protect and uphold our democratic processes. President Michael Waldman (author of the upcoming book The Supermajority on the Supreme Court) will moderate what promises to be an engaging conversation, featuring panelists Tom Wolf (Deputy Director, Democracy Program) on the ISLT and Chisun Lee (Director, Elections and Government Program) on money in politics reform.  Come with questions; we plan to devote time to answering them.

Please RSVP with this link to attend the briefing (we will offer a recording for those who can’t make it).
