Meeting Summary:

Staff Compensation: Ms. Nielsen reported that she and the Director went to the Portage County Commissioners with their budget, which included a 9% increase for the BOE staff as recommended by the Board members. That recommendation was not approved; BOE staff will receive a 5% pay increase. $6,000 is projected to remain in the personnel line this year. From these monies, board members approved bonuses for the full-time (8) and full-time/part-time (3) staff members in the total amount of $6,000.

Before the official certification of the November 8, 2022 General Election, one ballot was reviewed by the board. The board recommended the ballot be put through for counting. Logic and accuracy testing was performed on the machines and all were found to be in order. The board certified the official results of the election and the results were distributed.

No local races under the Portage County Board of Elections jurisdiction require an automatic recount. Plans for the post-election audit were approved. The proposed 2023 Board meeting calendar was distributed.
