The League of Women Voters of White Plains will hold a Zoom program on Wednesday, October 18 from 7 – 8 pm to help participants understand the structure of the New York State Court system, how judges are selected for appointment or to run for office, and how a citizen can make an informed choice when voting for judges.

We are excited to have the Honorable Kathie E. Davidson, Dean of the New York State Judicial Institute as our presenter and to answer questions.  The Institute is a statewide judicial education and research center, housed at Pace University in White Plains. Previously, Judge Davidson was  the Administrative Judge for the Ninth Judicial District, responsible for implementing and enforcing policies and managing day-to- day administrative support and supervision of staff, courts and agencies with the district, which encompasses Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester.  Prior to this, she was an elected Family Court Judge, and a Deputy County Attorney. She also currently serves as a Commissioner of the Franklin H. William Judicial Commission that promotes racial and ethnic fairness in the courts, among other civic engagement.
