Eligibility Criteria:

Students graduating in the Spring of 2027 from a public high school in Benton or Franklin Counties in Washington State who plan to further their education.

Submission of an essay of 500 words or less using the theme: What is democracy and how is it enhanced or impeded by today's political landscape?

The use of generative AI for writing the essay is strictly prohibited. Please write in your own words.

Students of ANY GENDER may apply
Essay requirements:

500 words or less. Only one essay per student may be submitted.

Must be Double Spaced

12 pt Times New Roman Font
