Outgoing County Clerk Naomi Maestas explained the voting procedures. Kristin Henderson, Chair of the UNM-LA Advisory Board, explained the UNM-LA GO Bonds question.
Two unopposed candidates spoke and answered questions: Representative Christine Chandler, running for NM House District 43 (the district that includes Los Alamos and White Rock), and Michael Redondo, who is running for Los Alamos County Clerk.
All five candidates for County Council introduced themselves and answered questions: Republican David Reagor; Libertarian James Wernicke; and Democrats Beverly Neal-Clinton, Ryn Herrmann, and Denise Derkacs.
As always for our LWV-LA Forums, members of the Los Alamos High School Hilltalkers wiere timekeepers.
The Voter Guide was enclosed in the LA Daily Post and is available at the county libraries. It contains the candidates’ responses to questions as well as information about the four proposed constitutional amendments and the five General Obligation Bonds, the final one of which is the GO Bond to fund upgrades to UNM-LA.
