Franklin, TN — The League of Women Voters of Williamson County (LWVWC) is proud to announce Williamson County Election Commission Chairman Jonathan Duda as our 2025 Election Hero, in celebration of Election Hero Day.
Election Hero Day is a nonpartisan, nationwide tribute recognizing the vital contributions of election officials, staff, and poll workers who uphold the integrity of our democratic process. This year, Election Hero Day fell on November 3, 2025, and the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS) is managing partner this year.
Jonathan Duda has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring safe, secure, and accessible elections for all Williamson County residents. His leadership and dedication exemplify the spirit of Election Hero Day, and LWV is honored to recognize his service.
"I am honored to receive this recognition from the League of Women Voters of Williamson County. This acknowledgment reflects the collective dedication of our entire team that operates elections that Williamson County voters can be proud of and have confidence in. This team includes the County Commission, which provides us the resources we need, our experienced professional staff, and the hundreds of dedicated poll workers who give their time for civil service each election. It also includes organizations like the League of Women Voters of Williamson County who are actively engaged with us throughout the election process.
As we look ahead, I encourage all eligible voters in Williamson County to stay informed, participate in upcoming elections, and engage with the process. Your voice matters and your vote is the foundation of our democracy," said Duda.
The award was formally presented at the Election Commission meeting on November 7, 2025.
“Election officials like Chairman Duda are the backbone of our democracy,” said Dorinda Smith, LWVWC President. “Their work often goes unseen, but it is essential to protecting every voter’s voice.”
