The League of Women Voters of Benton and Franklin Counties is sponsoring three scholarships to be awarded to local students to honor Marilyn Perkins, a long-time member of the local League, who passed away in 2021. Marilyn’s husband, John, donated funds to provide these scholarships over a 5-year period. Marilyn was a former teacher and a passionate civic education advocate.  Additional funds have been donated by friends and local League members to continue this program.

This year, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, LWVBF will be awarding three $2500 scholarships.
