The Annual Meeting of the League of Women Voters of Kent is set for Saturday, June 6, 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in Pierson Hall at the Kent United Methodist Church, 1435 E. Main St., Kent.
It’s here that we do the important work of ensuring the continuation of our organization into the next fiscal year: new budget, adding new leadership, updating positions and bylaws and providing leadership with direction.
Our speaker is Cheryl Ann Lambert, an associate professor in the School of Media and Journalism at Kent State University, who will address the topic “Recognizing and Resisting Mis- and Disinformation in the Digital Age.” Join us to learn how to practice media literacy in the digital age.
Lambert's research explores media framing, media representations and misinformation. She worked seven years in corporate public relations and five years in trade publishing. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Information (University of Tennessee) and a M.A. in Journalism (Temple University).
