The National League of Women Voters has set Saturday, Aug. 8, as a day to honor the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Leagues across the country will be participating in civic engagement actions, including voter registration drives, town halls and phone banks. LWVK, in partnership with the Portage County NAACP, will be hosting a family-friendly Community Cook-out at Plum Creek Park in Kent featuring games, food, fun for all levels!
