On Wednesday, June 10 at 3 p.m. Robert Rhatigan, Director of the Geospatial and Population Studies Center at UNM and the New Mexico State Demographer, will explain how the League can help with the 2030 census. The census serves as the foundation for fair political representation, equitable distribution of public funding, and the defense of voting rights. New Mexico has had a constant problem with undercounting of some of our communities, especially Native Americans and first-generation immigrant families. Undercounting hurts their ability to be properly represented and is a detriment to receiving federal funding.
