Pros and Cons of Ballot Measures

Pros and Cons of Ballot Measures

Before major elections, the League of Women Voters of California produces a written analysis of statewide propositions. Local leagues provide an analysis of local measures. The information is unbiased and presented in clear, easy to understand language. The goal is to help you decide whether to vote Yes or No on each measure.

A list of the qualified statewide measures is found on the California Secretary of State website. An analysis of statewide ballot measures is provided in the Easy Voter Guide. You can dowload a copy or pick one up at your local library or community center.

Local ballot measures are found on the County of Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters site. Pros and cons for local measures are presented in person and online.

This year, a Santa Clara County LWV Pro/Con Team, with representatives from all five Leagues in our county, researched all the ballot measures and that research was incorporated into a SCC LWV Pro/Con final slide deck with the help of a Google volunteer.

In addition to the slide deck, LWV of California has also published a number of documents that also provide additional information about the ballot measures. These documents can be accessed by clicking on the links below.
