PUBLIC COMMENT

A Brady Lake area resident informed the trustees that the current owner of the Brady Lake fire station told him he has boxes of VHS tapes related to the old fire department.
Mr. Swan told the resident to turn the boxes in to Town Hall as part of the township’s official record and thanked him for the information. The resident also told the trustees that people have been setting up campsites behind the Brady Lake Methodist Church; the sheriff’s office was informed, and an arrest was made. No Trespassing signs have been posted, and Mr. Swan suggested that residents with similar information should contact the sheriff’s office directly.

A Walnut Road resident submitted a proposed gold disk placement map for Chase and Phillips parks as requested by the trustees. The trustees asked him to confirm the placement with the road superintendent, who was absent from the meeting. Mr. Russell suggested the township make a donation to the effort, and Mrs. Kapusta moved to donate $500.00; all three trustees voted yes.

A Ferguson Road resident, representing the “Run the Land” organization, spoke to the trustees about a half-marathon that the organization is sponsoring on December 5th. He provided a map of the proposed route, which passes through areas of Kent and Brady Lake. The trustees discussed possible traffic-calming measures, and Detective DeSerio asked the resident to contact the sheriff’s office with details of the route and event times.

Detective DeSerio reported on 315 calls for service in the township during September, which included, but were not limited to, welfare checks, hit/skips, assists to other agencies, disorderly conduct, domestic disputes, larceny, theft, premise checks, shoplifting, and traffic stops. Mr. Swan shared concerns from a Horning Road resident about construction trucks speeding down the roads; the detective asked Mr. Swan to have the resident call the sheriff’s office to share his concerns directly.

ZONING REPORT
The road and fire reports are on file at town hall as part of the official record.

Mr. Russell asked Mr. Ciccozzi to remind BZA members that the issue of VRBO and Airbnb properties has already been addressed and that they are not permitted within the township. BZA members also requested that trustees and/or James Armstrong of the prosecutor’s office attend an upcoming meeting.

OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Swan addressed the deer population in the township; given an ordinance recently passed by the City of Kent that makes it a violation to feed deer and other small wildlife (except birds), he believes the township should not consider similar legislation. The other trustees agreed.

NEW BUSINESS

On November 10th, a special hearing to amend the Zoning Resolution will be held at 6:45 pm before the regular board meeting.

CORRESPONDENCE

The trustees received a communication from a Powdermill Rd. resident about the drastic change in the landscape since the home construction project began, as well as streaming and communication services. Mrs. Kapusta will communicate with the resident.

FINANCES

All three trustees approved a resolution authorizing a supplemental appropriation of $65,000 to the Road and Bridge fund for previously approved road resurfacing and paving projects.

All three trustees approved payment of bills totaling $374,119.60.
