Meeting Summary:
PUBLIC COMMENT
A representative from the Twin Lakes Association discussed resident support for an easement to connect the neighborhood with the nearby park. Negotiations with one or several property owners will be required to establish this easement.
A property owner on Leonard Street requested an update on his application for the township to vacate the paper road north of Washington Street. If approved, the land would be divided equally between adjacent properties. The trustees will decide on this matter at their next meeting.
ROAD, FIRE, AND ZONING REPORTS
During a meeting with Mr. Akerley, Mr. Russell, Mike Collins from the county engineer's office, and the Germaine Reserve developer, discussions included installing parking and speed limit signs. Mr. Swan stressed the importance of installing these signs when the township assumes control of the roads. The president of the Germaine Homeowners Association raised concerns about residents parking in front of fire hydrants and in cul-de-sacs. Additionally, there was talk of vehicles needing replacement at the service garage and suspicions regarding the sabotage of a chipper.
Mr. Smith announced Jamie Samuels' promotion to Fire Chief of the City of Kent and the hiring of two additional firefighters.
Mr. Ciccozzi gained approval from all three trustees for the prosecutor’s office to address zoning violations at 7426 Lakeview Drive.
Separate resolutions requesting title searches for properties at 7743 West Blvd and 1495 North Blvd were approved.
OLD BUSINESS
A recent meeting with Mike Collins from the county engineer's office indicated a further cost increase for the Hudson Road project, totaling nearly $800,000 for phases IV and V. The trustees unanimously voted against proceeding with the project.
FINANCE REPORT
The trustees approved the payment of bills totaling $125,153.13.
