Streetsboro Board of Education Organizational Meeting

Meeting Summary:

The Regular Meeting of the Streetsboro Board of Education was called to order on February 8, 2024, at 5:45 PM.

President Kristin Bedford opened the meeting with a Roll Call and the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were no public comments.

There was no Superintendent’s report.

TREASURER’S REPORT: The balance sheet shows revenues exceeding expenditures in February, which is typical for this time of year.

CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER’S REPORT: The district is currently working on making videography packages available for outfits wanting to rent district facilities. The district has offered videography services on a la carte basis and has received good feedback. Three videography packages are being developed and will be provided as extensions to the facility rental agreement.

The new bus (#39) has been received. It replaces bus #8, which will be traded in.

BOARD REPORTS: Tonia Epple reported that a sixth-grade basketball team won a tournament, and the Mayor of Streetsboro is dropping by the school to congratulate the team. Ms. Epple wanted to thank the Mayor for public support of the team and school district.
The Athletic Department has launched its new website. The site features schedules, player biographies, and online ticketing. The Athletic Department is working on its first annual comprehensive report and will present a three-year strategic plan.

CONSENT AGENDA: Consent Agenda items B through N were unanimously approved by the Board.

A facility rental agreement between the Streetsboro City School District Board of Education and Subha Ramesh was approved.

A facility rental agreement between the Streetsboro City School District Board of Education and On Your Toes Dance Studio was approved.

A facility rental agreement between the Streetsboro City School District Board of Education and Caputo’s Northcoast Productions was approved. This company has previously used district facilities and is happy with the arrangement. It needs additional lighting equipment and has offered to have extra lighting installed and donated to the district.

A facility rental agreement between the Streetsboro City School District Board of Education and Mamatha Kambalapalli was approved.

The trade-in of Bus #8 to Rush Truck Centers for $1,400 was approved.

The Board approved an update to the School Wellness Policy to list Andreas Johansson, Director of Operations, as the designated person for oversight.

The Board adjourned to an Executive Session at 6:01 PM.
