Field Local School Board of Education

Meeting Summary:

The meeting started at 7:00 pm., beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a short Silent Meditation. A Roll Call was taken for the approval of the Field Local Board of Education's April 14th, 2025 meeting minutes, followed by the adoption of the agenda for the May 12, 2025 meeting.

The student representative, Makayla Norman, reported updates on past and future student events: the high school choir concert, baseball team games, senior picnic, boys' and girls' track teams, and graduation for seniors, which is scheduled for June 2nd.

Superintendent Mr. Heflinger reported on the State Budget, funding school districts. The Fair Schools Funding Plan is no longer in place; however, the Carry Over Proposal seems to be the plan that will be in place at this time. This plan will impact the property taxes for residential owners and will be hard to explain. Superintendent Heflinger is not in favor of the plan. He will be attending more meetings later in the week. He will have more to share next month.

The demolition of Central School will be completed by August. The property's plan is to have a Tennis Court and a Pickleball Court, along with restrooms and a concession stand.

All members of the Field Local Board of Education approved all items in the Superintendent's Consent Agenda and the Treasurer's Consent Agenda.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm.
