Format: In-person
Meeting Summary:
Superintendent's Report:
- Student handbooks are in, will vote on them in August.
Treasurer's Report:
- Expenditures a bit high because of fine invoices from purchase orders
- End of the fiscal year: $8 million unencumbered ($2.5 mill in 2021, $650,000 in 2020)
- New Fiscal Year, on the horizon:
- Staff pay increases, health care costs will be up, inflation, cyber insurance up
- Foodservice - Congress has not authorized the free breakfast/lunch programs that were in place over the past two years, so things are going to change.
- Two funds have cash balances and did not need an end-of-the-year transfer from the General Funds: Surround Care and Athletics
- There's a new form for the Fraud Hotline on the district website with a link to the State Auditor website
Chief Business Officer's Report:
- Streetsboro helps the Portage Private Industry Council/Portage Learning Center/Head Start (hereafter referred to as the PLC) with its lease. The PLC is a private, NFP charity that leases facilities for a nominal rate because it is valuable to the Streetsboro Community. The CBO is working on new language in the contract that spells out the lessee's responsibilities. The CBO also wants to ensure that Streetsboro gets the facilities if the PLC leaves at the end of their lease and doesn't renew it. PLC says they can't do that--the facilities are officially owned by the federal government, but they can advocate for Streetsboro, and such recommendations are usually granted.
