- 2022-094 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF WOMEN'S REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS IN DISSENT OF THE U.S. SUPREME COURT DECISION OVERTURNING ROE v. WADE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY (UNAUTHORIZED)
Kuhar offered an amendment that suggested that the heartbeat law be rewritten to "determine what baby has to die." Ferraro seconded the amendment. Kuhar emphasized this isn't a woman's rights thing. Ferraro said because there are so many different opinions, all should write their own state representative on their opinion. Sidoti said he'd like to see the conversation change but he is personally against abortion. Turner said this resolution is in keeping with the Council's history. Kuhar's amendment was defeated 6-3 and the resolution passed 6-3 (Kuhar, Ferraro, and Sidoti against)

- 2022-081 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF A TREX LIQUOR LICENSE INTO THE CITY OF KENT BY THE WULFJAM, LLC, AN OHIO LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY, CONDITIONED UPON THE EXECUTION OF A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF KENT, OHIO AND WULFJAM, LLC, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY (AUTHORIZED) unanimously approved.
HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE:

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Shaffer-Bish brought up the "opt up" from the state's ordinance on fireworks. After a discussion of Roberts Rules of order, Shaffer-Bish's attempt to educate the problem on the state's law on fireworks modeled on the backyard fire ordinance was defeated.
