Streetsboro Board of Education Meeting

Meeting Summary:

The board welcomed student leaders from the WEB and LINK groups that help incoming sixth and 9th grades. Board treasurer Brian Haines, SB treasurer, explained that the district would probably NOT see any increase in tax revenues despite recent reappraisals. He won’t know precisely until the new year but welcomes questions at bhaines [at] scsrockets.org

The superintendent discussed a recent violence threat in the district on Sept. 11. It appeared credible, so the district implemented its family warning alert system and worked with SB police. School opened Thursday, and while some stayed home, the buildings were safe. She thanked local taxpayers for new buildings with exceptional safety features that assure optimal safety.

The following members of the board/council were present: Kristin Bedford, Tracy Campbell, Tonia Epple, Kelly Rich, Sara Scott. All board members were present.
