Director of Portage Parks Christine Craycroft addressed the board to describe ongoing county projects and discuss the parks levy on the ballot in November. The Franklin Bog Reserve and extensions to the Franklin Township park and trail connections will be a priority in the future. A collaboration with Davey Tree will allow access between the bog and Davey’s trails on the new SEED campus off Rt. 43 North. She also described the changes made since the last levy passed and why this levy asks for 1.0 million to replace the .5 million approved 10 years ago.

A Brady Lake resident had questions about the current survey supporting a road-based grant application. Mrs. Kapusta explained that if successful, the grant will bring $500,000 in funding to support road repairs at no cost to area residents.
