The 2026 Edith Chase Symposium will bring two free events to the city of Kent about local issues related to environmental justice and conservation. The theme of the symposium is “How We Got to Now: Lessons in Local Environmental History.” On Thursday, May 14, 7 p.m., Dr. Jon Wlasiuk (pictured) will present a lecture titled “An Alternative History of Cleveland.” The Wick Poetry Center will have a Gathering of Poets on Friday, May 15, 4 p.m., on the theme “Our Natural Cities.” For details, click here.
