The League of Women Voters (LWV) uses a consensus process to develop its positions. At the national leel, this begins with a national committee who researches and formulates a set of statements on a given issue. These statements are then sent to local Leagues for study and discussion, typically in an initial meeting. Members take time to reflect on the information before reconvening for a consensus meeting, where they work together to determine consensus. The local League’s responses are then submitted to LWVUS, where they are combined with input from Leagues across the country to shape an official national position.
The LWVUS Federal Judiciary Study Committee has prepared a series of questions our local study committee will present at the meeting on March 4. The information and questions for the study can be found here.
We will then reconvene on March 17 for the consensus meeting (WEAR YOUR GREEN!)
