MAKE A LASTING IMPRESSION! WORK ON THE LWVK VOTERS GUIDE
Learn how we use VOTE411 To create the voter guide before each primary and general election. In most cases candidates enter their responses online. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
Some of the tasks:
-
Contact candidates to encourage their participation.
-
Enter issue information in the VOTE411 app.
-
Respond to questions from candidates.
If you are comfortable using a word processing app, we could use your help compiling the print version of the guide that is prepared 1-2 weeks before the start of early voting. Time frame: February 4-April 7 for the primary, August 5-October 6 for the general election. Contact Nena at: nhankins [at] att.net.

JOIN ONLINE NATL COMMITTEE LOOKING AT ELECTORAL COLLEGE ALTERNATIVES
Several leagues from across the nation have established a group to examine alternatives to the Electoral College and explore reforms that could strengthen our democracy. This committee is reviewing the history, structure, and impacts of the Electoral College and considering proposals such as the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and potential constitutional amendments.
Participation in this committee gives members a front-row seat to national discussions on one of the most consequential questions in our democratic system: how we elect the President. The committee will share research, host conversations with experts and recommend actions Leagues across the country can take.
We are looking for an LWVK member to serve on this committee. Having a Kent representative ensures our local League has a direct connection to the national conversation. By reporting back to LWVK, the representative can keep our members informed about what the committee is learning, highlight opportunities for local education and advocacy and help us determine what role we might play in shaping the future of presidential elections
If you are interested in serving on this committee, it is totally online and takes less than an hour a month. Please contact Barb Wertzler at cricket5621 [at] aol.com if you are interested.
