League of Women Voters of Bowling Green to Host MLK Day of Service Donation Drive at Grounds for Thought
Bowling Green, OH -- The League of Women Voters of Bowling Green invites the community to take part in a simple, meaningful act of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 19, 2026.
From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., community members are welcome to stop by Grounds for Thought to donate toiletries, women’s hygiene products, and baby items to support the Brown Bag Food Project, a local organization addressing food insecurity and basic needs in the Bowling Green area. Donations may be dropped off at the large meeting table inside the café and will be delivered to the Brown Bag Food Project later that afternoon.
“Dr. King reminded us that everyone can serve,” said Sharlyn Katzner, President of the League of Women Voters of Bowling Green. “This day is about showing up in ways that feel doable: bringing a few items, sharing a conversation, and remembering that caring for our neighbors strengthens the whole community.”
In addition to the donation drive, League volunteers will be available throughout the day to share voter registration information and civic engagement resources. The League believes that service and democracy are deeply connected, and that making space for both helps build a stronger, more inclusive community.
