In Oklahoma, any voter can vote by absentee ballot, no reason required.  The signature on all absentee ballots must be "verified."  There are now three ways to verify a signature.

  1. notarize; or
  2. signatures of 2 witnesses if you have said you are physically incapacitated on your absentee application; or
  3. A.  a copy of a valid "identification document" photo ID issued by the United States (passport) or the State of Oklahoma (driver's license) or a Federally recognized Native American nation or tribe; or
    B.  copy of a valid photo ID issued by the armed services; or
    C. a copy of the voter ID card issued by your county election board.
Read the instructions that come with your absentee ballot.  Yellow stripe on the affidavit envelope means your signature must be notarized OR send a copy of an ID as in Number 3 above.  Pink stripe means your signature must be witnessed by 2 people OR send a copy of an ID as in Number 3 above.

DEADLINES:
Deadline to apply for absentee ballots for the June 30 election is June 23; absentee ballots must be received by the county election board before 7 p.m. on election day, June 30.

P.S.  The envelopes require extra postage.  Use 2 stamps!!
