"What Has Salem Done for Me Lately?" changed to...

The League of Women Voters of Coos County scheduled a meeting with Oregon Senator Dick Anderson to speak on the topic “What Has Salem Done for Me Lately?”  The purpose of the event was to provide a town hall where the senator would share his thoughts and answer questions from the public.  Anderson was unable to attend due to illness but submitted written responses to questions.  His answers can be viewed PDF icon here.

With short notice, Coos County Commissioner John Sweet stepped in as the substitute speaker at the League’s meeting. Commissioner Sweet discussed concerns about the lack of funding for county services in light of the state and federal funding policies.  He also responded to the League’s questions which had been created for Senator Anderson, and gave his personal opinion on local issues such as the PCIP.
