The League of Women Voters takes action on an issue or advocates for a cause when there is an existing League position that supports the issue or speaks to the cause. 

2024-2025 Accomplishments: 

Adopt-a-School, Active Observer Corp, Vote 411 participation and promotion—we distributed 6,000 Vote 411 cards!

There are many opportunities for members to stay active and engaged with LWV programs. Members may match their interests and talents with one or more of the following circles:

1) Mission—Board, long-term planning, keeps up with LWVSC, calendar

2) General—day-to-day operations, connects all circles

3) Programs—education (local & state), annual meeting, event planning (parades, Democracy and Donuts)

4) Finance/Membership—budget, fundraising, membership portal, membership events, new member orientation

5) Communication—website, media, newsletters, flyers, League-In-Action, press releases

6) Voter Services—sets up and guides voter services subcircles

• Adopt-A-School—school voter registration, new voter education, National Voter Registration Day

• Voter Events—festivals (Gullah, Lands End, Juneteenth), parade

7) Observer Corp—attends and reports on local community meetings
