Part 3 of our Finding Common Ground series will teach us how to have productive conversations with people who have ideas different from our own.
This session will be facilitated by Jennifer Mongold, Ph.D., Associate Dean of the School of Behavioral and Health Sciences and Director of the Criminal Justice Program at King University. Dr. Mongold has extensive training and experience in non-adversarial conflict resolution, mediation and restorative justice programming. In addition to her current academic position, she has worked with nonprofit organizations and the community at-large to provide training and conflict resolution to problems across a range of issues.
The focus will be on specific skills needed to deal with communication conflicts related to polarization. The emphasis will be on learning skills to reduce acrimony and improve the ability to understand each other.
