VOTE411.org is now available to provide election and candidate information for the upcoming May 3rd Primary Election. It includes candidates' biographical information and their responses to questions, which provide insight into their qualifications and opinions on issues related to the office they are seeking. There are four local contested races for Oak Ridge voters in Anderson County, and none for those living in Roane County.
VOTE411 is an online voter information guide that began in 2006 at the national league level, and now has over 300 local leagues participating. To use it, simply log on to VOTE411.org, (or shortcut: http://onyourballot.vote411.org/build.do), and follow the instructions. The site uses GIS data from the U.S. Census Bureau and State Comptroller’s Office to identify your voting district from the address you enter. Therefore, the races you see should be only those pertaining to your district. Please know that the information you provide and selections you make while using the site aren’t being collected or retained.
Please email Pat Bryan (patbryan2 [at] att.net) if you have questions or problems using the site.
Remember: Early voting is Wednesday, April 13 to Thursday, April 28; the deadline to register is April 4; and the deadline to request an absentee ballot is April 26.
