Our information-rich world depends on robust data centers. Growth is inevitable, particularly in areas such as AI and cryptocurrency mining. But are all communities well-served? Come learn about the state of data centers on Zoom.

Our speakers are: 

Scott Banbury is the Tennessee Chapter of the Sierra Club’s Conservation Director and state lobbyist. Scott has helped form and grow numerous local and regional organizations, including the Tennessee Clean Water Network, Tennessee Forest Council, Frack-Free Tennessee, Protect Our Aquifer, and the Dogwood Alliance.

Jonathan Koomey is a researcher, author, lecturer, and entrepreneur whose work spans climate solutions, critical thinking skills, and the energy and environmental effects of information technology. Dr. Koomey holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Energy and Resources Group at UC Berkeley, and an A.B. in History and Science from Harvard University.

Kasia Tarczynska is a senior research analyst at Good Jobs First, a national policy resource center that promotes corporate and government accountability in economic development.
