The League of Women Voters of Williamson County will host Emily Jenkins, attorney at the Tennessee Justice Center, for the League’s October meeting. The Tennessee Justice Center advocates for Tennesseans facing issues of hunger, heath, independence, and legal issues. While TJC works with individuals, the organization uses these experiences to create large-scale change for others facing the same challenges.

Emily is a Nashville native and proud graduate of McGavock High School. She obtained her J.D. from the College of William and Mary in 1997 and her B.A. from Rhodes College.

Previously, Emily focused her work on child welfare advocacy and pro bono matters as a solo practitioner. At TJC, she serves as Staff Attorney and is the Director of the Healthcare Justice Clinic, which is a partnership with Belmont University School of Law. In addition to her work for TJC, Emily is an active volunteer with Tennessee CASA, Williamson County CASA, Legal Aid, Hard Bargain and the Franklin Justice and Equity Coalition.

Emily is a mother of five, and lives in Franklin with her husband Chris.
