The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore is hosting their second annual Hunger Summit on March 5, 2019 at the Ted Constant Convention Center at ODU. Join us as we gather community leaders to discuss the root causes of food insecurity in our community. Check-in starts at 8:00 AM and the opening session begins at 8:30 AM. The opening session features a Q&A session with leaders from community organizations addressing housing, workforce development, and health needs in south Hampton Roads. Following the opening sessions, participants will be able to attend two of five breakout sessions: Lead: The Taboo Conversations around Hunger and Food Insecurity, Feed: Combating the Hunger/Obesity Paradox in Children, Strengthen: The Intersection of Corporate Social Responsibility and Hunger Relief, Transform: How Financial Literacy Contributes to Food Security, Everyday Advocacy: How to Use Your Voice for Change. The Hunger Summit will conclude after the breakouts and be followed by the Pillars of Promise luncheon honoring Foodbank supporters who contribute to our mission to lead the fight to eliminate hunger in our community. Following the luncheon there is an optional hunger simulation activity.

Admission to the Hunger Summit is free. Ticket prices for the Pillars of Promise Awards Luncheon are $45 per person
