The League of Women Voters of Greater Hartford has been actively promoting democracy in our community for years. Here are just a few of the places we have been. 

First Congressional District Debate (Oct. 22, 2020)

The League of Women Voters of Greater Hartford (LWVGH) and West Hartford Community Interactive (WHCI) invite our community to participate in a debate among the three candidates seeking to represent the First Congressional District of Connecticut: Mary Fay (R), John Larson (D), and Tom McCormick (I).

Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage in Connecticut (September 15, 2020)

Dr. Tracy Wilson spoke about the history of the Connecticut woman’s suffrage movement and the League of Women Voters through the lives of Hartford-area women. Dr. Wilson, West Hartford’s Town Historian and a member of the League of Women Voters, will focus on the involvement of the activists in multiple issues as she analyzes their leadership tactics and strategies.

Debate for the Fifth Senate District Special Election (Feb. 15, 2019)

The League of Women Voters of Greater Hartford and West Hartford Community Television present a live debate with candidates running in the special election in the CT 5th Senate District.

Forum on End of Life Decisions (March 23, 2015)

In 2021, the Connecticut Legislature raised the bill HB 6425 An Act Concerning Aid in Dying for Terminally Ill People. If you are interested in hearing the pros and cons of this proposed legislation, you might want to check out this panel discussion that was a non-partisan collaboration League of Women Voters of Greater Hartford and WHC-TV in 2015. The pros and cons are essentially the same today.

League of Women Voters 90th Anniversary (June 2010)
