THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS is a national non-partisan political organization established in 1920, the same year the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guaranteed women the right to vote. The League is organized on the national, state, and local levels.

Here in the Greater Heartford league, we encourage informed and active participation in local government, work to increase understandingof major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy.

We'd love to have you join us

Volunteer

We are counting on you to help make the new strategic plan, Toward Tomorrow, a resounding success. Without more active volunteer contributions from members in the plan’s implementation, our capacity is limited. To contribute to the League’s future, there are currently volunteer opportunities in several different areas. Please take a look and get involved!

Strategic Plan Toward Tomorrow

Developed in 2022 and approved in 2023, this strategic plan provides a path for sustainability and expansion so that the League achieves ongoing viability across the region it serves.

early voting

We need your support! Thanks to everyone who submitted testimony in support of early voting. But the work is not done.

Implementing early voting will require communications with the public, training for volunteers, and technical support for municipal employees... all of which requires FUNDING.
