Our Committees

Our Committees are where the real work gets done at LWV-CDC:

Volunteering for a LWV committee is a great way to become familiar with how the League operates and to learn about its involvement in local, state, and national issues. Participation will expand your knowledge of all levels of government, and further develop your communication, leadership, and project management skills.  Joining a Committee offers the opportunity for personal growth, and networking, but most of all, it allows an individual to make a difference in the community and have fun doing it.

There are four types of committees that you can join:

  • Education manages the components of our annual program dedicated to educating the general public. For example, Civic Education, International Relations Study Group, and Voter Service teams.
  • Advocacy keeps abreast of specific issues and advocate for positions based on League consensus and policies. For example, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Know your Community Units; and Legislative Advocacy.

  • Administrative organizes and sustains our League. For example, Budget, Bylaws, Communications/Marketing, Development, Event Management, Membership, Nominating and Program Planning.

  • Countywide Committees work on projects, studies and events that impact Delaware County. For example, Criminal Justice, Environment, Public Health, and Regional Adolescent Sleep Needs Coalition.
