The League of Women Voters of Delaware County is presenting a three-part program on Running for Local Office in preparation for the 2025 municipal election season.

The third of the series Meet the Winners will be held as an in-person event on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Inn at Swarthmore, 10 S Chester Rd, Swarthmore, PA 19081. Hear from present or former elected officials on their experience with running for office and serving as a local elected official. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

The event fee is $35.00 and light refreshments will be served.

Visit us at the 36th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Birthday Commemoration and Spirit Hall of Fame Saturday, January 25, 2025 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the First Church Media 350 W State Street, Media PA. The Commemoration will be followed by a Community Dinner to be held downstairs in Fellowship Hall from 4:30-6:00 PM.

In tribute to Dr. King's enduring legacy and his unwavering commitment to a world free of injustice, this year's commemoration will emphasize the importance of drawing lessons from our past to shape a more resilient future.

We are calling on League members and others to ask their local governments to adopt this resolution.

Lunar New Year Haverford

Join League of Women Voters members as we share voting information at the Lunar New Year Celebration to be held on Saturday, January 25th from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Main Line Art Center, 746 Panmure Rd, Haverford, PA.

The Year of the Snake will be ushered in at the event. There will be hands-on art activities for all ages and an outdoor performance of the iconic Lion Dance by the Philadelphia Suns. The Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy will also provide a martial arts demonstration.

The event is FREE but registration is required.
