Metro Phoenix Community Teams

Metro Phoenix League has several different community teams dedicated to the work of The League. Each team meets monthly and they are as follows:

 

Phoenix Day Community Team

Our team meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, from 9:30 - 11:30am, at The Terraces (1/2 block west of 16th Street on Morten. The building is on the south side of the street....look for the the fountains.)

Details:  Liz Salazar, Community Engagement Manager for Expect More Arizona. She will discuss her organization and the long-term vision for education in Arizona, to include the role of the Arizona Education Progress Meter.
 

Phoenix Evening Community Team

Our team meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, from 7pm - 8:30pm, at 2 W. Keim Dr. Phoenix.

East Valley Community Team

Speaker: Anissa Rasheta, an engaging speaker who heads up Mormons for ERA and serves on the ERA Task Force AZ coalition, will share her experiences with us. 
 
(May 13 Luncheon - Former Phoenix Mayor and AZ Attorney General Terry Goddard will talk to us about the NEW Outlaw Dirty Money initiative petition and he will bring new Dark Money petitions to distribute. 
 

East Valley Evening Community Team

Details: Isis Gil, ACLU-AZ Smart Justice Organizer will speak about the challenges that ex-felons in AZ face getting their voting rights restored and the work that People Power is doing to facilitate right restoration clinics. 
 

Scottsdale Community Team

Details: Our focus for the meeting will be "Learn to Discern: Media Literacy Training" and will help you recognize and resist disinformation, propoganda and hate speech.
