Fight big money in politics! Tell your Assembly Member to vote YES on SB 1107!

Time Range For Action Alert:
August 11, 2016 to August 29, 2016

Breaking news! SB 1107 was passed by the Assembly on August 30. The bill is back in the Senate, awaiting a vote to concur in the amendments made in the Assembly.

We need your help to reform California election funding! SB 1107 gives local governments the flexibility to fight big money in politics by publicly funding elections.
Please urge your Assembly member to vote yes on SB 1107 to help increase voter participation, restore public trust, and strengthen our representative democracy.
SB 1107 will remove a 28-year-old ban on public financing of campaigns, helping state and local governments level the playing field for those wishing to run for public office. This bill will support election innovation, including voluntary programs like those already in place in six California charter cities, but it does not require any government to offer public financing.
Take action now and urge your Assembly member to support SB 1107. Your message will encourage more civic participation and combat public cynicism about government.
