We have spent the year collaborating with partner organizations, briefing legislators, and negotiating amendments on AB 796 (Berman) to improve the voter registration process at the DMV. BACKGROUND

The Motor Voter program wasn’t an overnight success. It has taken years of stakeholder collaboration – and a lawsuit – to build and refine the system. • Make permanent the DMV’s current practices that were put in place as the result of the League of Women Voters of California v. Annis court case.
• Improve oversight and transparency of the Motor Voter program.
