Board of Supervisors Meeting: Redistricting Maps

Board of Supervisors Meeting: Redistricting Maps

Tuesday, December 14, 2021 - 1:00pm

On Tuesday, December 14, the Butte County Board of Supervisors will again consider, and most likely approve, new district lines based on the 2020 Census results.

While the meeting begins at 9 am, the redistricting item is timed for 1 pm on the agenda.

Three maps are posted for consideration.  To meet the state-law deadline of December 15 to adopt a new map, the board cannot modify these maps or introduce new ones.

  • A10, as modified during the Dec. 6 special meeting, was agendized by a motion supported by Supervisors Teeter, Connelly, and Kimmelshue.
  • A5-C, also as modified Dec. 6, was agendized by the same three supervisors.
  • A7 was agendized by a motion supported by Supervisors Lucero, Ritter, and Teeter.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda:

  • Adoption of the Butte County 2021 Climate Action Plan, timed for 10:30 am.
  • Adoption of the Butte Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP), timed for 11:00 am.  The Supervisors will vote on this GSP because Butte County is one of eleven Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSA) for the Butte Subbasin.  (By contrast, Butte County is not a GSA for the Vina Subbasin; it is a member of the Vina Subbasin GSA.)
