Consider More Protection for your Webinars
As we rapidly advance toward the election, and work through the complexity of polarization and treating each other with civility, the LWVC is exploring ways to protect our online spaces. In consultation with other state Leagues and LWVUS, the LWVC has decided to add a required disclaimer to all Zoom events hosted by the LWVC moving forward. Everyone will have to agree to attend, and LWVC will ensure attendees abide by the agreement during sessions. We recommend that you consider implementing something similar. Below you can find the language that we are using, please feel free to tweak it for your needs.
“By registering for this event, I agree: to abide by the rules of the LWVUS and LWVC as set out in each League’s bylaws and official policies, including the Nonpartisan Policy, Member Rights & Responsibilities, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy; not to act in opposition to a League position or policy when acting on behalf of the League; that all knowledge and information gained from proprietary information and discussion (e.g. confidential information) of the League of Women Voters shall be regarded as strictly confidential and shall remain the sole and confidential property of the League of Women Voters. I agree to not engage in any behaviors or actions that are harassing, threatening, or physically or verbally abusive toward any LWV member, employee of LWV, or member of the public, and not create an environment that is intimidating, hostile, or offensive. This includes online activity. I understand that photos/videos of me may be taken in connection with my participation; these photos and videos are the sole property of the League of Women Voters of California.”
