The June 2 Primary Election is right around the corner. Ballots will be in the mail the week of May 4. Below are the Nevada County vote center and ballot box locations and hours. If you plan to vote by mail, remember to vote early. As of late 2025, the USPS changed how mail is postmarked. Previously, Mail was postmarked when it was first accepted at your local post office. Now, mail is postmarked at a regional processing center. For our area, that processing center is in West Sacramento.
In California, mail-in ballots are counted if they are postmarked on or before Election Day and received within seven days after the election. Since your ballot will not be postmarked until it reaches a processing center - possibly days later - there’s less certainty about timing. So vote early to be sure your ballot is counted. Or:
-
Go to the post office and ask for a manual postmark for your ballot
-
Drop it off an official ballot drop box
-
Vote in person at a vote center
