Nev City Candidates 2026

The first in our series of candidate forums for the June 2 Primary Election featured the Nevada City City Council race with candidates Micayla Sortland, James Khatami, and Adam Kline.

Candidats

As the June 2 Primary approaches, the League of Women Voters of Nevada County will present candidate forums for the following races. These forums provide an opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates on key issues and are open to the public. All forums will be offered in person, live online, and available on demand following each event. Community members are encouraged to submit questions.

Ballot box

The June 2 Primary Election is right around the corner. Ballots will be in the mail the week of May 4. Below are the Nevada County vote center and ballot box locations and hours. If you plan to vote by mail, remember to vote early. As of late 2025, the USPS changed how mail is postmarked. Previously, Mail was postmarked when it was first accepted at your local post office. Now, mail is postmarked at a regional processing center. For our area, that processing center is in West Sacramento.

Donate

The League of Women Voters of Nevada County believes that an informed voter is the best return on an investment.  The Your Vote - Your Future campaign provides you with that opportunity. Rather than asking you to purchase a ticket to a fundraising event, we are inviting you to invest directly in the essential voter services we provide to Nevada County. This effort highlights our commitment to voter registration, education and turnout.100% of the donations will go to this mission, not to catering.
