Nevada County Elections Office News

Natalie Adona, the Nevada County clerk-recorder/registrar of voters, is resigning effective June 6, 2025 as she has accepted an appointment as the Marin County Registrar of Voters. Assistant Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters Corey O’Hayre will be assuming all of the duties and obligations of the office until the Board of Supervisors makes an appointment, as a special election is not allowed by law.

The chair of the Board of Supervisors will appoint two members of the Board to serve on an Ad Hoc committee that will guide the recruitment effort and vet applicants. Finalist candidates will appear in a public meeting of the Board to be interviewed. The full Board will select the person to be appointed into the position.

The process will be formally documented by the County and made public soon. The next election for this office is June 2, 2026.
