The candidate forums for the Nov. 3, 2026 Midterm Elections have been finalized, and we're excited to announce the following details.

All forums will be held at the Rood Center, 950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City, 6 p.m. 

Questions for candidates are welcome and encouraged. Please email questions no later than five days in advance of each forum to questions [at] lwvnevadacounty.org. Note the particular office in the subject line, ie: Grass Valley City Council

Confirmed candidate forums

• Tuesday, Sept. 22, Nevada Joint Union High School District (Areas 1 and 5)
• Thursday, Sept. 24, GV City Council
• Thursday, Oct. 1, GV School District

Candidate forums we were unable to schedule 

• NID Divisions 1 and 2: Only one candidate in each division responded and agreed to participate.  Division 1: Terry McAteer agreed; Jesse White did not respond to our invitation. Division 2: James Smith agreed; Chris Bierwagen did not respond to our invitation. Due to League rules, we are unable to hold a candidate forum with just one candidate. 
• State Assembly District 1: Heather Hadwick accepted, Dianna James was unable to schedule.
• US Congressional District 3: Candidates Ami Bera and Robb Tucker both agreed to participate but there was a scheduling conflict.
