Not sure if you are registered to vote? Take a moment to check your voter registration status or register to vote today! It's quick and easy.

You'll need to re-register to vote when:

  • You change your residence address or mailing address,
  • You change your name, or
  • You change your political party choice.

November 3, 2026 - General Election

  • The last day to register to vote for the November 3, 2026 General Election is October 19, 2026. (You can still register & vote after that date:  see NOTE below)
  • All California active registered voters will receive a Vote By Mail ballot for the General Election.
  • Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by October 5, 2026.
  • Ballot drop-off locations open on October 6, 2026.
  • Vote By Mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or the Santa Barbara County Elections office.
  • You do not have to vote on everything. Your votes still counts even if you choose to skip some things on your ballot
  • Vote By Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 10, 2026. (Check our USPS Postmark Page to make sure your ballot will count.)

NOTE: Did you miss the voter registration deadline? You can still register and vote in person at your polling place or the county elections office. They will have you "conditionally" vote a provisional ballot.
