2018 Annual Meeting

News

The June League Day, our Annual Meeting, is a most important day for League members. This is your chance to review our activities of the past year and plan for next year. Come to make your voice heard and help choose the direction of our League and committees for the coming 2018–19 fiscal year. Please join us for a lively discussion and a productive morning!

See the green insert and the articles in the May Voter for details about the things we will consider: new officers and board members; 2018–19 budget and program, including priorities for education and advocacy; a very important change to our dues assessment process. Please bring the green insert with you to Annual Meeting.

Following lunch, we will also be treated to a speaker who has been very active in California politics—longtime political consultant Fred Register. He has worked on numerous political campaigns in California for more than forty years, including those of LWV-PA members Jeanette Mann and Sue Miele for the PCC Board. He will give us an analysis of the June 5 primary election and what it portends in the months leading up to the November general election.

Our League Day will be just two days after the California primary, and we will be ready to look at the results of our voting and how those results will affect us, California, the country. Register will share his informed insight into the implications for our state and for the general elections in November.
