On November 14, a celebration of League volunteers was held at Blinn House in Pasadena. President Martha Zavala hosted a great party as a way of thanking all who attended. It was an opportunity not only to express appreciation to League members but also to enjoy seeing friends and partaking of wonderful food and drinks. There was even a raffle of a lovely holiday basket, which Advocacy Chair Joanne Als won.

Martha presented a beautiful certificate to each volunteer, acknowledging their contributions to the communities we serve. All who attended expressed their gratitude to Martha for her leadership in organizing many opportunities to get actively involved with the work of the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area. As she said, “The League is only as strong as the members who are involved. Democracy is not a spectator sport.”
