NewsMembers of the LWV-PA Board met on June 8. Here are the highlights:
- The Board discussed a potential partnership with the climate action organization Community 2.0. The Natural Resources Committee will investigate and recommend a course of action.
- Martha Zavala announced that the Board would convene a meeting immediately following the June 18 Annual Meeting to make appointments to the Nominating Committee.
- Kay Adams moved to add new language to the Standing Rules to address payment of annual dues. The motion passed. Kay and Dorothy Keane will review the Standing Rules and determine how to edit them.
- The League Brochure will be reviewed and updated by September.
- Katherine Gavzy reported that preparations for the Annual Meeting at the Monrovia Community Center were in place and called for volunteers to operate the registration table.
- Dorothy Keane discussed the deadline for the July issue of the Voter; it was pushed back a week to allow summaries of the National Convention activities to appear in that issue. Coverage of key topics was assigned to Board members or their designees.
- Dorothy Keane proposed specific changes to the Standing Rules, Part III, to accommodate discontinuation of the Healthcare Committee and Units. Moved, seconded, and approved.
