May Board Meeting Summary

Members of the LWV-PA Board met in May. Here are some highlights:

• Treasurer Joe DesBarres reported that our PMP has been paid to LWVC and LWVUS, and our budget situation is good.
• President Zavala reported that a special meeting of the 2022–23 Board will be convened following the June 18 Annual Meeting to make appointments.
• President Zavala suggested that the Board take an interest in water conservation due to the critical state of drought we are facing.
• The upcoming May 14 rally for reproductive rights was noted, and members were encouraged to attend.
• The Board voted in favor of allowing Affordable Pasadena to use the LWV-PA logo after supporting the ballot measure for rent control.
• The Development Committee will be designing a new League T-shirt. T-shirts now in inventory will be available for purchase at the Annual Meeting.
• The Annual Meeting will take place in Monrovia at the Monrovia Community Center on June 18. Light refreshments will be available. Attendees will not be charged, but donations are welcome.
• The Ice Cream Social will be held in person this year on October 9 at the Western Justice Center.
